A- Diction - Walkin' Alone (Obese)

ALMOST five years in the making, it’s no wonder A-Diction’s debut CD is a strong one.

Having cut their teeth over mix-tape releases such as The Three Year Itch, the Melbourne duo have taken the time to craft intelligent and mature tunes.

In short, Breach and Boltz actually have something to say.

Combine that with production from some of Oz hip-hop’s most in-form producers and this CD could become a favourite.

The forthright M-Phazes-driven One Fact is an early stand-out while the bouncy Wingman lightens the mood considerably but showcases the boys’ ultra-tight double-act flow.

A remix of G-Force’s Drop The Beat with the exquisite vocal talents of Vida Sunshyne is the CD’s centrepiece for mine while the Mules-produced duo of Consistent and What We Do — an Oz hip-hop call-to-arms — are both worth a spin or two.

RATING: ★★★½

IN SHORT: A-Dictive
