☐ Boy & Bear — Moonfire

☐ Drapht — The Life of Riley

☐ Gypsy & The Cat — Gilgamesh

☐ Oh Mercy — Great Barrier Grief

☐ The Middle East — I Want That You Are Always Happy

The Winner: Boy & Bear. The Sydney indi-folk rockers were as refreshing as anyone this year. Big things lay ahead.

Smoky: Gypsy & The Cat

BEST BREAKTHROUGH ARTIST (Single)

☐ Boy & Bear — Feeding Line

☐ Drapht — Rapunzel

☐ Havana Brown — We Run The Night

☐ The Jezabels — Dark Storm

☐ Zoe Badwi — Freefallin’

The Winner: Drapht. Helping break down the barriers for Oz hip-hop, Rapunzel was the genre’s biggest chart and radio hit in recent memory.

☐ Gotye — Somebody That I Used to Know (featuring Kimbra)

☐ Guy Sebastian — Who’s That Girl (featuring Eve)

☐ Gypsy & The Cat — Gilgamesh

☐ Washington — Holy Moses

The Winner: Gotye. He cleaned up as an unknown in 2007 and will do so again as Aussie music’s hottest name.

Smoky: Washington (There's also a sneaky part of me that wants Guy Sebastian to win!)

BEST URBAN RELEASE

☐ Drapht — The Life Of Riley

☐ Illy — The Chase

☐ Koolism — The ‘Umu

☐ Phrase — Babylon

☐ Vents — Marked For Death

The Winner: Drapht. Only for the fact that Melbourne's Phrase only released the brilliant Babylon in August.

Smoky: Phrase

☐ Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu — Rrakala

☐ John Butler Trio — Live At Red Rocks

☐ Tex Perkins & The Dark Horses — Tex Perkins & The Dark Horses

☐ Children Collide — Theory Of Everything

☐ Eskimo Joe — Ghosts Of The Past

☐ Jebediah — Kosciuszko

☐ Papa Vs Pretty — United In Isolation

The Winner: The Living End. You can bet your double bass on this one. Lucky Gotye doesn’t use more electric guitar.

Smoky: Papa Vs Pretty

BEST DANCE RELEASE

☐ Bag Raiders — Bag Raiders

☐ Cut Copy — Zonoscope

☐ Miami Horror — Illumination

☐ Pnau — Soft Universe

☐ The Potbelleez — From The Music

BEST GROUP

☐ Birds of Tokyo — Wild at Heart

☐ Boy & Bear — Moonfire

☐ Eskimo Joe — Ghosts of the Past

☐ Grinderman — 2

☐ The Living End — The Ending Is Just The Beginning Repeating
