Simon Cowell isn’t always a creep.
In fact, when British PM Gordon Brown asked Cowell to organise a charity single to aid victims of the Haiti earthquake, the world’s most famous talent judge jumped on the phone and roped in a host of big names, Band-Aid style.
The song is REM’s classic Everybody Hurts, an apt selection, and the band agreed to waive all royalties.
Among the stars to lend their time, and voices, are Rod Stewart, Leona Lewis, James Blunt, Mika, Michael Buble, Jon Bon Jovi, Robbie Williams, Mariah Carey and our own Kylie Minogue.
Oh, and we can’t forget the irrepressible Susan Boyle.
This particular rendition isn’t spectacular, but in this instance it matters not — this release is 100 per cent about raising funds and awareness.
