THEY look like cast members from The Wonder Years.
But Kevin, Paul and Winnie never sounded like this.
Il Volo, the Italian opera trio comprised of Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble, are like the junior Il Divo.
And if you didn’t know these tenors were 18, 17 and 16, respectively, you’d never pick it.
Their takes on Italian standards like ‘O Sole Mio, Il Mondo and Un Amore Cosi Grande, among others, are breathtaking.
Along with their hit self-titled CD, this edition features a bolt-on Christmas-themed EP. Of course.
The disc opens with a song we’ve heard a million times but Silent Night is magical (they re-do it later in German) while their Christmas Medley (Jingle Bell Rock, Let It Snow, It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year) is heaps of fun and the hymn Panis Angelicus must be experienced.
