Various - ReWiggled: A Tribute To The Wiggles (Universal)

AS the father of three kids under three, Wiggles songs are always buzzing around my head.

It’s driving me crazy.

Now, ahead of the iconic quartet’s induction into Aria’s Hall of Fame, some of Australia’s favourite alternate acts have reimagined The Wiggles’ tunes in their own musical styles.

The CD opens with a rockabilly take on the classic Hot Potato, performed unmistakably by The Living End while Rock-A-Bye Your Bear is given a full-blast Spiderbait treatment — Janet on vocals, Kram on the beats.

Elsewhere, Bluejuice twist Wake Up Jeff into a misty calypso highlight, Adalita’s Get Ready To Wiggle is so emo, it’s almost uncomfortable and The Snowdroppers whack a studded punk collar on Wags The Dog.

Architecture In Helsinki techno-fuse Wiggly Party and Getting Strong rips as a rock anthem courtesy of Jebediah.

RATING: ★★★½

IN SHORT: Colourful
