Festival fun and games

One of the best things about the Margaret River Wine Region Festival is that there is something for all.

Those who want to can hop on a bus and take in the sights and tastes from the individual wineries, or you can find a venue to sit back, relax and listen to music-whatever you choose you can enjoy the great food and wine this region produces.

At The Burning of the Vines young local performers got to show their musical ability, much to the appreciation of their friends and families. Both adult and children alike enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere-the kids had a great time while their parents took the opportunity to catch up for a chat.

Watching the talented dancers from the High School and the effort the racing cart teams put in during the street party was impressive.

All of these well organised events were a pleasure to attend.

It's just a pity that at the end of the organised part of the street party we still have a few unsupervised children who insisted on throwing cream, flour, food colouring, and whatever else they could get hold of at each other and around the street.

This behaviour seems to have become acceptable if not encouraged by some parents.

If that's the case maybe we could fence off an area for this to happen.

At least when you leave the street party you wont have to run the gauntlet just to get to your car.
