THE luxury home at 6 Caernarvon Court, Wodonga, is reaching for new heights.
On the market for $1.95 million, if the lavish four-bedroom, five-bathroom home sells for that price it will be a record for a residential property in Albury-Wodonga.
According to figures from Australian Property Monitors, if the home fetches the desired price it will be the highest recorded for a residential home by $50,000.
In 2006 a property in Wyse Street, Albury, sold for $1.9 million.
Set at the top of Caernarvon Court in Castle Heights the sprawling homestead offers about 70 squares of luxury living over two levels.
On more than an acre of private, landscaped grounds the magnificent home features a formal living and dining room, open-plan living area, two kitchens, a library, gymnasium, theatre and billiard room, a wine cellar and an indoor pool.
There’s also a large outdoor pool perched perfectly at the top of the hill to make the most of the sweeping views across the city.
Wodonga Real Estate property consultant Clinton Harvey said the sale presented a “rare opportunity”.
“The view, you can’t beat it in Wodonga,” he said.
“And certainly the quality of the home is rarely seen.”
Built in 2002 by Contemp Homes, the home was last for sale in 2006 when it was listed with Ray White Real Estate, Wodonga, for $2.5 million but didn’t sell.
Mr Harvey says $1.95 million is a realistic price and he’s confident of a sale.
“I think it’s outstanding value,” he says.
The pristine living on offer at the home also includes a sweeping veranda and magnificent views from almost all living areas and bedrooms, ensuites to all bedrooms, including three with spa baths and a lower level with the theatre room, multi-purpose room, second kitchen and another bathroom.
APM data shows the highest selling price for a residential property in Wodonga was $1.062 million in July 2007.
APM data is collected from the Valuer-General’s Office in each state and territory and real estate agents.
