TAMARAH Pretty isn’t your regular 10-year-old.
Yesterday as the mercury soared into the high 30s the Thurgoona girl was manning her bric-a-brac stall.
She has been doing it every day since the start of the year.
But it’s no get-rich-quick scheme.
“I want to help the orphans in Sudan,” Tamarah said.
“They have been badly affected by war, some of the boys are sleeping in trees, I’m hoping this money will go to building a dorm at an orphanage.
“My nan went there last year and some of the stories she told me were just amazing, they have no food, or clothes, it’s bad.”
Among the items on offer under the shade of the gum tree in front of the family home on the corner of Boree Court and Ironbark Road was a bike, lap top computer, clothes, and a DVD player.
Mum Lisa is especially proud.
“At this time of year most kids are thinking about themselves but not Tamarah,” she said.
“She has always put other people first, she makes us very proud.”
