The Melbourne man, 25, was stopped on Bonegilla Road at 10am after a tip-off from the public.
He has been charged with obtaining property by deception, possessing the proceeds of a crime and driving offences and will appear in Wodonga Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Police issued a description and photograph of the man on Friday, after reports he was seen in the North East.
