THERE wasn’t an Australian flag in sight but you don’t get much more Australian than being married on Australia Day at Australia Park.
Metres from the Murray River with the cicadas buzzing and a possum watching, Kevin Hensel and Kerrie Dalton were married in front of 70 family and friends yesterday.
The Albury couple had their first date on Australia Day five years ago.
“We met on Australia Day, we got engaged here last Australia Day and we’re here today,” Mrs Hensel said.
“He’s got no excuse to forget our anniversary.”
Resplendent in purple Mrs Hensel was attended by her two sons, Liam Dalton, 14, Rhys Dalton, 11, and her niece Amanda Foster, 12.

The wedding party moved to the Newmarket Hotel for the reception.
“It’s all set up for an Australia Day party,” Mrs Hensel said.
