Alleged Glenroy shooter refused bail

03 Sep, 2010 01:35 PM
GLENROY man Jade Michael Fraser was refused bail this morning over the shooting of another man early on Tuesday morning.

Fraser, 27, of Kurnell Place, applied for bail on charges of discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, recklessly causing grievous bodily harm and firing a firearm in a public place.

But his application was refused by magistrate Gordon Lerve in Albury Local Court, who expressed concerns about a firearm being discharged in a residential area.

The court was given details of a confrontation which led to the shooting of Matt Walker, 26, also known as Fruend, who is a friend of Fraser.

He is recovering from serious injuries in a Melbourne hospital.
