Art a lesson on life as simple as A, B, O

A NEW exhibit at the Albury Library Museum aims to educate children about the importance of blood donation.

The Three Red Letters Art for the Awareness of Blood Donation display features colourful three-dimensional A, B and O letters, signifying different blood types.

The letters act as conversation starters for the subject of blood donation, and information on the processes involved is also available at the library museum.

Acting Albury blood donor centre manager Karla McDonald believed the activity would “raise awareness about our important work and encourage people to find out what blood group they are”.

“For every cancer patient, burns victim or trauma patient, there is a blood donor behind the scenes helping to save lives every day,” she said.

Amelie Cameron, 3, of Albury played with some of the letters in the display yesterday.

Mum Rebecca Cameron said while Amelia was too young to understand the significance of blood donation, the display was a good initiative to get older children talking about the vital service.
