Ban on harvesting in southern NSW

FIRE authorities in have banned farm harvesting in southern NSW this afternoon as conditions heat up.

The NSW Rural Fire Service has applied the ban to farms in the Albury, Greater Hume, Corowa and Berrigan local goverment areas.

It follows a total fire ban already applying across eastern and southern Riverina as well as North East Victoria.

The harvest ban will run from 2pm to 10pm today.

The Border has been tipped to reach 40 degrees today with the mercury at 34 degrees at 1pm.
