Bigger Vinnies to open today

19/11/2008 1:00:00 AM
VINNIES opens its new “mega store” in Wodonga today.

The St Vincent de Paul second-hand shop has relocated to the former home of Mountain Pine Furniture, about 200m down the road from its former outlet in High Street.

The new store more than trebles its retail space.

Yesterday an army of volunteers, some from as far away as Yarrawonga and Shepparton, were helping to stock the 700 sq m shop.

“The lease on the old shop was terminated with plans to redevelop the site and so when this opportunity came up we jumped at the chance,” Vinnie centres state manager Tony Thornton said.

The outlet will open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
