REDLANDS' Make Me A Supermodel contestant Billy Bishop has sworn off get-famous competitions after being evicted from the Channel 7 show during last Thursday's episode.
In a farewell video on the Make Me A Supermodel website, the 20-year-old said he had almost made it big on a number of occasions, but great success had always eluded him.
He was a promising AFL player until injury forced him to miss crucial trials and had previously come close to winning a role on Neighbours as the Queensland entrant in a Dolly magazine competition.
"I've come close to that dream a few times in a few different ways whether it be sport or acting or this, and it feels like I can't quite grab it, so after this I think I will be done with the competition side of things and I'll just be living life a lot more," he said.
Billy said he was "shattered" to leave the show so close to the final, but was also looking forward to catching up with friends and family.
Before his eviction, the former Ormiston College student gave the Bayside Bulletin an extensive list of all the things he was missing while being in Sydney for the show.
"I miss mum and dad, I miss my brother, I miss my dog and I miss all my friends from school. I miss partying and I miss the Valley and I miss just Brisbane itself. I miss Coochiemudlo and I miss the water and I miss freedom and I miss junk food and sleeping in," he said.
Billy was due home on Saturday morning and father Michael said a weekend of catching up, partying and celebrating was planned.
