Blue beam of hope for diabetes sufferers

WODONGA’S water tower lit up in just one colour last night —– blue.

The city’s landmark was just one of almost 1000 “iconic” monuments taking part in the rally behind World Diabetes Day.

Last year, 279 monuments were lit as beacons of hope for the millions worldwide living with diabetes.

These included the Sydney Opera House, the Rhine Tower in Germany, the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, the Taipei 101 Tower in Taiwan, the London Eye in the British capital and the Sears Tower in Chicago.

16/12/2008 | So we now have desperate parents attempting to bribe teachers to get their children into a selective high school. What a sad indictment of our education policies, the holy grail of which is parental choice.
