Brides Revisited to help sick children

19 Mar, 2010 01:00 AM
GOWNS of yesteryear will be on parade in Brides Revisited at Walla on Sunday.

Four health workers, Jill Wadsworth, Adele Kennedy, Helen Steer and Maryanne Whale, are raising money to take part in this year’s Camp Quality EsCarpade Car Rally in October.

“It’s not going to be easy, it’s around 400km a day, but it’s not 400km of normal roads, there’s lots of hills, sand and all sorts of things,” Jill Wadsworth said.

The team will be driving a 30-year-old Holden Commodore.

The work mates and friends were motivated by Culcairn’s generous spirit after the Victorian fires and wanted to continue doing charitable work.

“We’re all health professionals and we’re passionate about helping children,” Ms Whale said.

The team need to raise $4500 to enter the rally, and hope to raise even more with the parade and donations.

The $15 entry fee to Brides Revisited will include afternoon tea and the parade starts at 2pm at St Paul’s College.

For more information or to donate contact Maryanne Whale on 0437 192 361.
