10/10/2008 8:52:00 AM
TWO brothers have been remanded in custody over the murder of Inverell man Stephen Robert Cameron.

Mr Cameron was found dead in his house at Lindsay Ave at 11am on Sunday.

Jack Beauden Colley, 18, from Inverell and 26-year-old Brendan Clive Colley from Casino turned themselves in to separate police stations about 1.30pm on Monday.

Following discussions with police at Inverell and Casino, the men were charged with Mr Cameron’s murder.

Jack Colley appeared in Armidale Local Court on Tuesday and again on Wednesday via audiovisual link.

No pleas were entered and he was formerly refused bail.

He will face Armidale Local Court again via audiovisual link on December 3.

Brendan Colley was also denied bail and no pleas were entered when he appeared in Lismore Local Court on Tuesday.

He is due to appear in Inverell Local Court on November 20.

The results of the post mortem of Mr Cameron’s body are yet to be finalised and the exact cause of death is still unknown.

Police said there were, however, obvious signs of injury to the victim. The cause of death is still being investigated.
