CBD brawl victim in Melbourne

A MAN injured in a brawl in Albury's central business district this morning has been flown to Melbourne for treatment.

The victim, 28, from Albury, suffered head injuries which resulted in him having to be taken to a Melbourne hospital.

Police said the injuries, which earlier were described as head bruises and a cut lip, were serious but not life threatening.

The fight, which involved up to 15 people, happened at the intersection of Dean and Olive streets about 3.15am.

Two Albury man, aged 20 and 25, are facing various charges over the incident.

Police are continuing to investigate the brawl and hope to examine security camera footage of the fighting.
