Dolls and teddies ‘art’ show

25 Nov, 2009 01:00 AM
THE teddies will have their picnic at the Doll and Hobby show on Saturday.

There will be morning tea and lunch available, and all proceeds will go to the Cooinda Family Support Group.

“Dolls and teddies are an artform, they are not just for kids.” events co-ordinator Viccy Priscina said.

“When you see them all set up together they look magnificent.”

The show will have over 20 stalls including some from Melbourne and the US.

“Hundred hours or more go into each doll, people put a lot of work into their hobby,” exhibitor Denise Hayman said.

“Many people are dumbfounded when they hear the cost of each doll, because they don’t understand how much work it takes to create each one.”

The show is from 10am to 4pm at Mirambeena Community Centre, Martha Mews, North Albury.

All proceeds will go towards supporting families with a disabled relative.
