“Riding bulls is exciting; barrel racing is for girls,” he said.
Ben, now 12, is keen to beat last year’s third place in the bull-ride, the aim of which is to ride your full eight seconds with style.
“Don’t let go until your head hits the ground, and use your spurs,” he said.
Ben’s mother Carolyn said the Albury family had completely changed its lifestyle to accommodate the rodeo circuit, which involves home-schooling their eldest daughter.
The Chiltern Pro-rodeo is the final in the Tri-Series.
The event is expected to attract 3000 spectators and begins at 4pm at the race track.
