Early test screening for cardiovascular disease

3/10/2008 9:22:00 AM
Stawell residents can access an innovative pre-paid heart health test which screens for early signs of cardiovascular disease.

Intelliheart has introduced a new approach to heart health - a test which uncovers early signs of cardiovascular disease by measuring arterial stiffness.

Numerous clinical trials have confirmed a link between arterial stiffness and future risk for cardiovascular disease.

Incorporating nine heart tests in the one consultation, Intelliheart is the only widely available test that combines traditional cardiovascular disease tests with cutting edge, medically supervised technology.

This safe, non-invasive 45 minute test puts the patient in control of their heart health, as Intelliheart test results include recommendations which, if followed, can potentially minimise the likelihood of coronary heart disease and stroke.

Pre-paid Intelliheart cards can be purchased exclusively from Amcal and and Guardian Pharmacies for $199.

Patients then attend Stawell Regional Health where a technician performs the test, which includes an automated blood pressure reading, pulse wave analysis to assess arterial stiffness, a heart rate variability assessment, a resting electrocardiogram, an ankle brachial index and cholesterol and glucose testing.

A patient review, including family medical history, lifestyle and a height and weight analysis are collated with results from the tests.

Results are reviewed online by an IM Medical doctor and cardiologist, with a comprehensive four page data report then sent to the pre-paid cardholder or their pharmacist within five working days.

The cards can be bought on behalf of someone else - a great encouragement for a loved one who is reluctant to go to the doctor or for someone who needs support to address their health concerns in a non-threatening environment.

The sophisticated Intelliheart technology provides a cardiovascular snapshot of heart health.

16/12/2008 | So we now have desperate parents attempting to bribe teachers to get their children into a selective high school. What a sad indictment of our education policies, the holy grail of which is parental choice.
