Fairways Estate

If you’ve ever dreamed of living in buggy distance to a golf course, you will be interested in eight totally unique building blocks going under the hammer in Mudgee on November 1.

‘Fairways Estate’ on Lions Drive comprises 25 building blocks of a land development owned by the Mudgee Golf Club.

Club general manager, Philip Small said the initial auction of eight blocks represented a unique opportunity.

“It’s a once in a lifetime chance to acquire premium residential living right on a golf course.

“The initial eight prime blocks back onto the course and are larger than a normal building block.

“This is the chance to have a 50 acre garden on your door step,” he said.

Club president, Trevor Crosby said the idea of living adjacent to a golf course had become an aspirational trend worldwide.

“And it’s not just for golfers,” he said.

Mr Crosby said the land had always belonged to the club and with the support of members was re-zoned late last year from industrial to residential to make way for this development.

“Work began eight weeks ago and by the time of the auction roads will be sealed and overhead lighting in place.

“Underground cables have already been installed,” he said.

Mr Small said the club had acquired the land in the late 20s.

“This foresight has enabled the present-day club to reap the benefits and we intend to use the same level of stewardship to invest the funds wisely for the benefit of current and future members.

Real Estate operator, Hugh Bateman said in his 35 years of experience in the Mudgee market, this offering was the most wonderful opportunity to buy an incredible block.

“It’s a very, very unique offering and cannot be compared with anything ever offered in Mudgee before,” he said.

“All the blocks will have ‘buggy access’ so homeowners will be able to drive straight onto their properties from the golf course.

“It’s a world-class land development and there are very few available.”

Mr Bateman said he is confident all eight blocks will sell on the day.

The remaining 17 blocks will be sold at a later date.
