BUNBURY restaurant Mojo’s on Victoria Street and the Bull and Bush Tavern in Boyanup each picked up the prestigious Gold Plate award on Monday night.
The annual Gold Plate awards those who have been judged as having the highest standards in service, food and wine for diners.
Mojos picked up the Gold Plate award for Licensed Casual Dining in the Country and the Bull and Bush received the best in family dining.
Mojo’s owner Noel Brunning said he was delighted the restaurant had picked up its fourth Gold Plate.
“We want to thank everyone who’s supported us and dined with us – this is for you,” he said.
“We’re proud of what we do and happy to be recognised by the independent judging panel.”
Bull and Bush managers Bruce and Jackie Pegler said they were very proud to pick up the award and have used it to quash suggestions on the rumour mill the restaurant was being closed down.
Mr Pegler said there was “no way in the world” the restaurant would close after all the hard work they and owner Patricia New had put in to making it so successful.
The Bull and Bush was also a finalist for the country tourist restaurant section and Mojo’s a finalist in the country free standing licensed café section.
Café Fez was a finalist for the coffee shop section and Nicola’s Ristorante was a finalist in the two categories of country licensed dining and Mediterranean casual dining.
The State student waiter winner was Daniel Buswell of Epicure Training Restaurant in Bunbury.
