Girls' night in

9/10/2008 11:50:00 AM
WHILE the girls are busy decorating their bras to wear on the outside for tomorrow's Girls' Night In, the boys still have a chance to win a rally kit-equipped Suzuki Swift car.

Tickets for Girls' Night In at the Australian Prospectors and Miners Hall of Fame have virtually sold out, but raffle tickets can still be purchased at Star City Memorabilia in Hannan Street today and tomorrow morning.

Girls' Night In and the raffle were organised by breast cancer survivor, Tarnya Denn, and helpers to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Ms Denn was diagnosed with Breastcancer in 2003.

Kalgoorlie Suzuki has provided the raffle first prize, a Suzuki Swift, and Suzuki Australia have donated a $3000 rally kit fitted to it.

Second prize is two return airfares to Perth from Travelworld Kalgoorlie, two nights accommodation at Margaret River Hotel and $100 bistro voucher donated by the hotel and three days car hire from Avis.

Third prize is jewellery valued at $1000 from Rogers Jewellers.

Tickets are $50.

Ms Denn said the raffle will be drawn at 10pm tomorrow at Girls' Night In.

She said Perry May - “Perry the bus driver” - will pick up women going to Girls Night In near Coles loading bay in Brookman Street between 6 and 6.30pm and bring them back about midnight.

“Hubbies and boyfriends can drop them there in Brookman Street – it's well lit and just down from the police station – and collect them later,” she said.

■Monday, October 27, is Pink Ribbon Day when people are asked to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation and women who have breast cancer in their lives by purchasing pink ribbon merchandise and gifts or buy hosting a fundraising event.

16/12/2008 | So we now have desperate parents attempting to bribe teachers to get their children into a selective high school. What a sad indictment of our education policies, the holy grail of which is parental choice.
