SHADOW Minister for Climate Change and Environment Pru Goward will place questions on the notice paper in Parliament this week concerning the amount of money that is to be allocated for the Southern Highlands Regional Shooting Complex.
Ms Goward said given the current financial crisis, a multimillion dollar shooting complex was a luxury the State could ill afford.
“I wonder about the investment return of allocating millions of dollars to a single sporting project,” Ms Goward said.
“While the purpose of the regional shooting complex is to incorporate a number of smaller shooting clubs, I’m not convinced that even with that amalgamation such expenditure can be justified.
“Improvements to health, education and essential services are all under a cloud with the NSW Labor Government set to run a red pen through previously made commitments to improve these services."
