Halstead boycotts closed discussion

16/11/2008 12:49:00 PM
COUNCILLOR Ken Halstead walked out of a discussion about Wingecarribee Council’s legal action against its former financial advisor Lehman Brothers yesterday, in protest against the debate being held in closed council.

Councillor Halstead, Cr Jim Mauger and Cr Larry Whipper opposed a motion that council move into closed committee to discuss the motion.

“I object to closed committee to discuss the Lehman Brothers fiasco,” Cr Halstead said.

“I won’t be part of that and I will not discuss any further anything relating to investment because the public need to know all about it.”
