A police car was damaged after responding to a call about a naked man near Tintaldra about 10.30pm on Saturday.
The nude Israeli’s clothed countryman jumped on the bonnet, creating a dent, and the pair later told police they had consumed magic mushrooms given to them at Mount Hotham.
The nude man was fined $234 for offensive behaviour, while his companion was dealt with in a diversion hearing at Wodonga Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
The men, in their 20s, later drove to Corryong to give police an apple pie, along with a note saying: “from your mushroom mates from Israel”.
But not all the officers indulged in the dessert, unconvinced about its contents despite assurances from the Israelis it was free of illicit substances.
The men also apologised, thanking the police for looking after them in a time of need, and paid for the damage to the squad car.
They also swore off magic mushrooms for life, before continuing their holiday, heading north to Sydney.
