Wednesday and yes we did get off on time, 7am and there were 14 ladies and our ever faithful bus driver heading down the range with big smiles on our faces. As usual, Wendy had all sorts of exciting things up her sleeve which involved doing the chicken dance when we lost a ball, riding your stick like a horse after every par 3 tee off and wearing funny hats on the course and this went on for the 3 days. The first day we played a stableford round at the beautiful Woolgoolga course and shared every fairway with about 200 kangaroos. The winner was Kerry with 37 points and runner up went to Karen with 31 point. Well done on a course that we really had no idea where we were hitting.
The motel was great and the meals at the club were delicious. No complaints from anyone. Thursday and the sun was shining and we teed off again at 9am. This time we played a stroke event and it was bit easier as we knew where we were going. Tracey won the day with 93 off the stick. Runner up went to Pip.
With the afternoon off some went to the beach while others had a leisurely lunch that lasted all afternoon. Dinner at the club again and it was delicious. Friday and we set off to Sawtell to have a round before we headed home. We played a stableford event with a teams combination (which we didn’t find out who was our partners on each hole until the end) thrown in to make it interesting. The winner of the individual event was Wendy with 37 points and runner up was Tracey on 33 points. The teams went to Kerry with Tracey and Joyce winning the ball comp. Nearest the Pin – Barb Phillips on 2 holes and Vicky on 1. Big thanks to Wendy and Joseph for their efforts once again, I know I had a fantastic time and I am sure everyone else did.
Next week is a stableford event at home and the 4BBB at Deepwater. Starter is Donna White.
Sunday is Kirks 4BBB event and Mick and Stacey have generously put on a trophy for the ladies as well so please support this event.
