WHEN Wangaratta police pulled over a driver for a licence plate matter, they didn’t know they were about to catch a man with four outstanding warrants for his arrest.
He has been wanted by police for years.
Police pulled over the man, 58, on the Hume Highway on Tuesday after noticing his trailer displayed boat trailer plates.
The officers recognised the man, who had been wanted in relation to crimes dating to 2006.
The man has been charged with theft, obtaining property by deception and driving offences.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Wangaratta Magistrates Court on April 2.
