A KILLARA man charged with assaulting Lavington man Larry Haifa was refused bail yesterday.
Jesse Stewart Costin, 19, had been remanded in custody by police after being interviewed on Monday and charged with recklessly causing grievous bodily harm and affray.
Albury Local Court heard that charge could be upgraded depending on Mr Haifa's progress.
Police prosecutor Sgt Tony Seccull said it was a strong prosecution case with some admissions made by Costin in a record of interview and other alleged admissions to associates.
Costin will reappear in Albury Local Court on January 4.
