Loxton, 24, of Sunshine Court, pleaded guilty to charges of assault occasioning and resisting arrest.
Police withdrew an affray charge.
The court was told Loxton had punched Donna Macklan, causing her to fall, and then landed another blow to the side of her head.
Ms Macklan suffered a more serious attack from Loxton’s former partner, Christie Keighran, and eventually escaped home in her motorised wheelchair.
Loxton’s attack caused a large lump and red marks to the left side of Ms Macklan’s head.
His solicitor, Mark Cronin, told magistrate Megan Greenwood: “The behaviour you will find was entirely unnecessary”.
Mr Cronin said the victim had gone to a residence in an agitated state. That had led to a confrontation and Loxton had foolishly decided to get involved.
He said Ms Macklan was dressed as a man. She was wearing jeans, a singlet and had cropped hair.
He said Loxton had struck Ms Macklan twice — once while standing and the other time while she was down on a grassed area.
“My client had no further physical involvement,” Mr Cronin said.
Ms Greenwood imposed a $440 fine on Loxton for resisting arrest. She imposed a bond on the other charge.
“I do need to send a message to you and other members of the community that this type of violent behaviour is unacceptable,” she said.
