INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into an incident where a man pulled a knife on another man and chased him along a Port Macquarie street.

Police said the father of a teenager charged with an assault allegedly confronted a 39-year-old man just after 7pm on Wednesday at a unit block in Gordon St. The man allegedly pulled a 20cm knife from the front of his trousers and pointed it at the victim, stating that he was going to kill him.

Witnesses told police the man claimed his 18-year-old son would go to jail for the assault.

The man allegedly thrust the knife at the victim three times before the victim ran and was chased. The victim jumped into a friend’s motor vehicle and reported the matter to police.

Anyone who witnessed the event is urged to call Port Macquarie police on 6583 0199.
