About 4800 members were notified by mail on October 15 that the Tamworth branch would close due to a low level of use.

But customers shouldn’t worry, Medibank will reopen as a small agency run by the staff at the prescription counter of Bloom’s Chemist.

Bloom’s owner Anna Anderson and her team had taken on the role of Medibank agents and will service customers in the Tamworth area.

The Bloom’s agency will open on Monday.

Mrs Anderson told The Leader the staff at Bloom’s were delighted to be working with Medibank.

“We’re very excited about it and are looking forward to servicing the Medibank Private customers in our region,” she said.
