A spokesman for Mid-Western Regional Council confirmed the re-surfacing of Mortimer Street between the pedestrian crossing outside Woolworths and Church Street.

“The section of asphalt did not produce good results because of a materials’ flaw.

“The contractor said it was unusual and that he would take responsibility for the resurfacing.
