TWO Border mums outraged by the debate over baby carriers have decided education can overcome the bad press.
On Wednesday the pair will host the first sling library, where parents can try before they buy.
Shari Rippingale said yesterday there was confusion over baby carriers.
“So many mums and dads don’t know how to wear them, don’t know what is best for them,” she said.
“With the negative coverage over the past few months about carrying a baby in a sling-carrier, we aim to educate parents about wearing their baby or toddler safely, and helping them find the most suitable ones.
“We have collected several slings and carriers for our library and aim to add many more.”
Ms Rippingale and colleague and mother of two Melanie Fletcher will host the first of what they hope will be monthly sessions in the park next to Sumsion Gardens in Wodonga at 10am.
