 New, old faces in running

New, old faces in running

27 Nov, 2009 10:56 PM
LAST Friday, the Nationals Women’s Section hosted a dinner in Wangaratta with Bridget McKenzie, the Nationals Senate candidate, as guest speaker.

All in attendance were very impressed with her as she brings a new image to the Nationals in Victoria.

She is a delightful, well-educated young woman exhibiting a lot of ability to be our new senator.

Today, members of the National Party in the Murray Valley electorate will meet in Wangaratta to preselect a candidate for the next state election to replace local member Ken Jasper, who is retiring.

There are nine candidates seeking preselection, seven men and two women — five from Wangaratta and four from the centre and west of the electorate.

Some have been very involved with the National Party for many years while others are relatively newcomers, some have a lifetime of experiences while others have proven ability along with youthful energy to do the job.

I urge all members to attend today and show how progressive the National Party can be in providing an excellent member to replace Ken Jasper.
