MYRTLEFORD police have charged a man over a “disturbing” daylight attack of two people in the town’s centre this week.

Police say the incident, which left a female victim with injuries, was witnessed by a number of people.
Sen-Constable Anthony Short said a man and a woman were allegedly assaulted on Clyde Street at about 3.30pm on Monday.
“It was disturbing the attack took place in broad daylight in Myrtleford,” said Sen-Constable Short.
“For innocent members of the public to be able to see that sort of thing is not good”.
Yesterday a Myrtleford man, 38, was charged with riotous behaviour, intentionally causing injury and recklessly causing injury.
Sen-Constable Short said alcohol wasn’t a factor in the crime.
Thw man was bailed to face the Myrtleford Magistrates Court on February 3.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault to Myrtleford Police on (03) 5752 1003.
