GREEN thumbs have just over a week left to get their finest flowers in shape for the Camellias on Parade show.
The event runs from Saturday, September 13, showcasing the Hume Camellia Society’s best examples of the many varieties of the flower.
Society member and organiser Des Klemke, who owns 180 varieties of camellia, said he hoped the annual event would draw a crowd of enthusiasts and newcomers eager to enjoy the burst of colour.
“The camellia is a very good garden plant — the camellia sasanquas has hundreds of small, lovely flowers,” Mr Klemke said, adding 120 prizes would be awarded.
The show will be held at Albury High School next Saturday from 12.30pm to 5pm and Sunday from 10am to 4.30pm. Entry is $3.
