Julie Lyford will again steer Gloucester Shire Council through the next four years after she won a mayoral ballot at Monday’s council meeting.

Cr Geoff Slack was re-elected deputy mayor.

Cr Gerry Germon was the only other councillor to contest the mayoral ballot.

Cr Jim Henderson also threw his hat into the ring for the deputy mayor’s position.

A full report from the first meeting of the new council in next week’s Gloucester Advocate.
