Dubbo police reported a busy weekend with numerous calls in relation to unruly behaviour in the city’s streets, and in and around licensed premises.

On one occasion police were called to Myall Street where more than 200 young people, aged from 15 to 18,

had attempted to gate crash a party.

Orana command Inspector Chris Clarke said the group was ordered to move on and a number of them were spoken to about smashing bottles and causing destruction on the road. Insp Clarke said this was one example of numerous move-on orders issued at the weekend.

About 1.40am on Saturday, a 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with offensive conduct and resisting arrest.

He was arrested at the corner of Macquarie and Church streets, where police alleged they also found him in possession of a small amount of a prohibited drug.

The man will appear in Dubbo Local Court.

Police discovered more than 200 uncapped syringes dumped on the side of the road on Jubilee Street at the weekend.

They located the syringes on Saturday morning and have since taken them to Dubbo Base Hospital where they will be properly disposed of.

“It would appear this was not the first occasion police have located a large amount of uncapped syringes,” Insp Clarke said.

Anyone with information they want to report can contact Dubbo Police Station on 6881 3299.
