A NORTH ALBURY family have been forced from their home after it was broken into and trashed during a wild party.
Simon Packer, his wife and three young daughters went to Melbourne last Friday night to celebrate 10-year-old Anjolie’s birthday with a weekend visit to the zoo and Luna Park.
But a phone call from their landlord Saturday morning asking if they’d had a party set alarms bells ringing.
The family returned home that morning to find their Regina Avenue home destroyed.
“I threw up when I went in the house,” Mr Packer, 34, said.
“I found two used condoms and a syringe in my daughter’s room, it’s disgusting,”.
It’s believed the offenders broke into the home late Friday night and posted an invitation to the party on Facebook.
The family’s Japanese Akita dog called Judge was terrorised at the party.
“They’ve tormented him, they jumped all over him, threw stubby bottles at him, put a knife to him, he’s just not in a good way,” Mr Packer said.
Judge was yesterday being treated for an eye infection, the result of broken glass.
“What they’ve done to him is just horrible, and people have taken photos of it and it’s on Facebook.”
Mr Packer, a house restumper with Snowline Restumping, said the rental house was not habitable.
“They’ve punched holes in walls, scrawled their names everywhere,” he said
“I physically feel sick to know what they’ve done here, it’s so hard to go into the house now.”
Mr Packer said his daughters’ teddies had been ripped apart, toys broken and trampoline slashed.
The party-goers stole the family’s television, audio system, DVD player, Nintendo, tools, wake- board and chainsaw.
“You name it, it’s gone missing,” Mr Packer said.
“But to be honest I don’t want any of it back, not after seeing what they’ve done to the place.
”We’re throwing out all mattresses, who knows what’s been done on them.”
Mr Packer said he wanted the parents of the party-goers to see what their children had done.
“To see what their delinquent kids get up to,” he said.
“It’s just revolting.”
The family are staying at Mr Packer’s parent’s home until they find another rental property.
He and his wife Marissa are receiving threatening phone calls from the party-goers, who likely got their mobile numbers from the home.
“Saying ‘haha I did this to your dog and I did that, suck shit’,” Mr Packer said.
“I just want justice.”
Albury police Insp David Cottee said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Police believe a relation of the Packer family broke into the home and advertised the party on Facebook.
The RSPCA is investigating cruelty charges.
Late yesterday Dr Arthur Frauenfelder said Judge was found to have suffered no major wounds, glass had been taken from his foot and there were a couple of small cuts to his hind legs.
He said the dog had been sent back to his original vet for treatment for the injury to his eye.
