A MALE driver has died and his female passenger was seriously injured when their truck crashed into a tree north of Albury this morning.
The small truck was travelling south on Urana Road, about eight kilometres, north of Jindera when the collision happened at 2.45am.
The driver, 29, died at the scene, while the passenger, 26, was taken to Albury hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Urana Road is expected to be closed for a significant time as a result of the crash so investigators can conduct further inquiries.
Northbound traffic is being diverted onto the Walla Road to Walla then either left into Walbundrie or right to Culcairn.
Southbound traffic diverted from Walbundrie to Culcairn Road then into Walla then through to Jindera.
