Kids, try to be a Wildcat

20 Jan, 2012 12:00 AM
ALBURY-Wodonga Bandits legend Al McCowan is urging kids under 18 to come along to the Trinity College Thurgoona gym on Sunday for the Wildcats Basketball Club “come and try it” day.

“We’re just looking for some new players to come and try the game and see if they enjoy it,” he said.

“Registrations are coming up and a new season is about to start.

“We’re hoping to get a lot more interest from younger kids, especially in the under-10s and under-12s but anyone under 18 is welcome.

McCowan said basketball was a great sport to meet new people and is some cases travel away.

“Meeting new players and making new friends is what it’s all about,” he said.

The day starts at 10am and runs for an hour.
