AFTER a one-year hiatus, Cricket Albury-Wodonga will send a team to Melbourne Country Week.
And the Border outfit won’t be mucking around either, with an accomplished squad selected for the association’s comeback in division 4 of the championships.
The team will be led by Belvoir veteran Mick Spiteri, and will include Trent Ball, David Farrell, Steve Taylor, Greg Daniel, Nat Sariman, Josh Warren-Marmo, Pat Plummer, Mark Purtell, Peter Cook, Michael Klein-Boonschate, Michael Booth and Gary Elliott, with Jack Wood emergency.
Spiteri said he was confident the team could win its division.
“We’ve got a very talented side, with our strength being the depth of batting talent — with Taylor, Farrell and Sariman all century makers this year, as well as Daniel, Ball and Warren-Marmo ... we should make some formidable totals,” he said.
Country Week runs from February 15 to 19 with CAW to take on teams from Campaspe, Horsham, Seymour and Grassmere.
