 Extras almost top score

Extras almost top score

30 Jan, 2012 12:00 AM
AFTER a first innings of 156, Brocklesby will need a great bowling performance to defeat Balldale next week.

Gary Drew top-scored for Brocklesby with 51 but Mathew Gadd, Ashley Dowell and Jordan Schilg were the only other players in double figures.

It could have been much worse for Brocklesby, had the home side not handed it 47 extras including 19 no-balls and 12 wides.

Jordan Wilson was the best bowler with 4-23.

Burrumbuttock will need plenty to go its way if it’s to dig itself out of a big hole against Rand.

After winning the toss and batting the home side could manage just 128, that largely due to 50 from Darcy I’Anson.

At 3-80 Burrumbuttock had been travelling well but disciplined bowling from brothers Adam (3-20) and Mark Kreutzberger (2-13) took its toll.

Rand is 2-66 in its run-chase.
