BRILLIANT Yarrawonga coach Craig Ednie’s season is in danger of being ruined by ongoing hip problems.
With a recent injection failing to alleviate the pain, the Pigeon underwent further scans in Melbourne this week and is expected to find out the results today.
Ednie hasn’t played since Yarrawonga defeated Wodonga Raiders on July 4 and admitted yesterday he was no closer to resuming only four weeks out from the start of the Ovens and Murray finals series.
“I haven’t trained for a month and to be honest I just can’t seem to get it right,” a frustrated Ednie said last night.
Ednie’s hip problems flared in the opening rounds of the season, but he successfully carried the problem until forced to undergo scans in May.
Yarrawonga last night included Nic O’Bryan and Nick Tassell for tomorrow’s Wangaratta clash and omitted Zeke Flanagan and Matt Irvine.
The frustration has continued for ruckman Adam Svarc with the big-man pulling up sore from last weekend’s reserve grade match and forced to sit out this weekend.
But the good news is defender Matt Wollington will return after suffering a punctured lung and broken ribs.
