BOOM Yarrawonga recruit Brendan Fevola last night declared he wants to play in a Pigeons premiership.
The former Carlton and Brisbane Lions fullforward agreed to terms with the Ovens and Murray club yesterday in a deal that will see him play nine home matches and finals, should the Pigeons qualify.
Fevola, who has never played in a senior flag, said he was determined to send the premiership cup to J.C. Lowe Oval for the first time since 2006.
“It’s great to have it all sorted out, I can look forward to the season ahead as a Yarrawonga player now,” Fevola said.
“Hopefully I can help bring a premiership to Yarrawonga after losing the last three grand finals.
“By the sounds of it Albury is the team to beat but we should still have a really good side.
“I can’t wait.”

Fevola said on Sunday two O and M clubs were vying for his signature but last night declined to name the second team in the running for his services.
The dual Coleman medallist joins Nick Lawless (Northern Bullants), Richard Handreck (Robinvale) and Jake Cowman (Mooroopna) as arrivals at Yarrawonga and will help offset the departures of Craig Ednie (Mulwala), Jeremy O’Brien (Queensland), Zac O’Brien (Aberfeldie), Sam Keenan (Avondale Heights), Matt Wollington (Cobram) and Kyle Archibald (Whorouly).
Fevola, 31, said he was confident he would have a positive impact on the competition.
“I know I’m joining a really good league, I’ve spoken to a lot of people about it,” he said.
The Pigeons open their season against Lavington at Mulwala in what is sure to draw a bumper crowd on Easter Sunday.
Yarrawonga president Glenn Brear could not be contacted last night.
