Kirk will be part of commentary team

10 Feb, 2012 12:00 AM
BRETT Kirk will be part of Channel Seven’s commentary team this season.

The former North Albury star, who captained the Sydney Swans to premiership glory in 2005, will be the network’s field commentator for Saturday and Sunday afternoon matches.

Kirk will be joined by Hamish McLachlan, Basil Zempilas, Mick Malthouse and Tom Harley in the Saturday afternoon broadcast.

He will share the Sunday afternoon position with Geelong premiership skipper Cameron Ling as Bruce McAvaney, Dennis Commetti and Tim Watson call the action from the commentary box.

Kirk retired at the end of the 2010 season after a 241-game career with the Swans.
