Pair back in Roos colours

03 Feb, 2012 12:00 AM
COROWA-Rutherglen’s quest to lure former players back to the club has received another boost, with young midfielders Toby Quick and Russell Fulton returning to John Foord Oval.

The pair had short stints with Rutherglen in the Tallangatta league, where they were both senior regulars under Mark Sarau.

“They’ll slot in really nicely,” Roos’ coach Shaun Mooney said.

“Providing opportunities for the young guys locally is something we’ve been working on heavily.

“It’s fantastic to have them back at the club.

“They’ve both been training really well and they’ll both add something to our list which is great.”

Quick, 23, played 10 senior matches for the Roos before he departed for Rutherglen in 2009 while Fulton, 22, played 25 senior games before he joined Quick a season later.

“They both had a good think about their footy and they both decided they wanted to play footy at the highest level available to them,” Mooney said.

“It’s great for us and will certainly add to our depth.”

Mooney said the Roos had been attracting solid numbers at training.

The club will undertake its two-day preseason training camp at Mount Hotham next weekend.
